The MPL MY Season 18 regular season ended on Sunday 18 October, and the top six teams go to the playoffs at Stadium Juara, Bukit Kiara, from Wednesday 28 October to Sunday 1 November. Seventh and eighth are out. All times below are Malaysian time, and our playoff preview looks at how the regular season ended and the first two days’ match-ups.
The first round: seeds 3 to 6
Seeds 3 to 6 open the playoffs on Wed 28 Oct with two best-of-5 upper quarter-finals: 3 v 6 at 3:00 PM and 4 v 5 at 7:00 PM MYT. The two losers are out.
A second chance from the semi-finals
The top two seeds join on Thu 29 Oct in the upper semi-finals: the second seed against the winner of 3 v 6 at 3:00 PM, and the top seed against the winner of 4 v 5 at 7:00 PM MYT. From here until the grand final, a loss in the upper bracket only drops a team to the lower bracket, and a loss in the lower bracket knocks it out.
- Fri 30 Oct: the lower semi-final between the two upper semi-final losers at 3:00 PM MYT, then the upper final at 7:00 PM MYT.
- Sat 31 Oct: the lower final, best of 7, at 5:30 PM MYT: the upper final’s loser against the lower semi-final’s winner.
- Sun 1 Nov: the grand final, best of 7, at 5:30 PM MYT.
Every match before the lower final is a best of 5.
