Moonton’s newsroom reports that MLBB has been given the GamingonPhone Awards 2026 prize for Mobile Esports Game of the Year. It is the fifth time the game has collected that prize. Moonton’s public relations team also won, picking up PR/Marketing Team of the Year, a category it has now taken twice.

Marcus Lim, who leads overseas public relations at MOONTON Games, marked the win by saying: “This is MLBB’s fifth Mobile Esports Game of the Year.”

A year of milestones

The release links the award to the game’s 10th anniversary and the ALL IN MLBB campaign that celebrated it. Moonton puts installs of the game above 1.5 billion, with 110 million players active each month in more than 80 countries.

It also points to the competitive side. Citing Esports Charts, Moonton says the M7 World Championship peaked at 5.68 million viewers watching at once, a record for a mobile esports tournament. Both the MLBB Mid Season Cup and MLBB Women’s International were played in Europe for the first time, in Paris as part of the Esports World Cup (EWC), and MLBB was a medal event at the Asian Games.

Team Spirit were named Mobile Esports Team of the Year at the same ceremony. The release says they became the first side from outside Southeast Asia to lift an official international MLBB major when they won the MSC in Paris.

What comes next

Thailand, which hosted the awards, will host upcoming MLBB competitions including the SEA Championship Tour, known as MCT SEA, and the M8 Wild Card. Europe gets its first M Series event, with the M8 World Championship Finals set for Istanbul, Türkiye, in January 2027.
