Selangor Red Giants are the MPL MY Season 18 champions. They beat Team Rey 4–3 in the grand final on Sunday 1 November, a best of 7 that started at 5:30 PM MYT at Stadium Juara, Bukit Kiara.
How they got there
Selangor Red Giants topped the regular season with 11 wins from 14 matches. In the playoffs they beat Bigetron MY by VIT 3–0 in Thursday’s upper semi-final and Team Rey 3–0 in Friday’s upper final, so the three games they dropped in the playoffs all came in the final.
Team Rey, second in the regular season, took the long way. They beat Team Vamos 3–0 in the upper semi-final, lost the upper final to Selangor Red Giants, then beat Vamos again, 4–2, in Saturday’s lower final. Sunday’s final was a rematch of Friday’s upper final, and this time Team Rey took it to the last game.
What’s next
Both teams had already qualified for the M8 World Championship as the season’s top two: Selangor Red Giants go as champions and Team Rey as runners-up. M8’s main stages are in Istanbul, Türkiye, in January 2027.
